I ended up pulling the cable off and took it to a local shop. The valve is a Bristol and the identifying features is three wavy lines on the bottom and the lack of any other identifying features. The newer cables won’t fit old (05) valves they are bigger now. So I ended up changing the whole valve. Hope this helps someone in the future.
