I guess that is ok after you are camping. I used to have Directv SD with a dish on a tripod and it was very easy to find the satellites. I just took one of my DVR receivers from home. The receiver doesn't know where it is, we just watched the home locals. Those days are gone. I just don't know how the receiver would act if it got the signal.
