Catchy title and I guess I know why they need to be adusted.

Cable operated slides are really pretty trouble free but you do need to do 'surgery' occasionally as I'm finding out.

OK, we do haul our 5er quite a few miles and the roads in our great country are beyond shovel ready therefore, these gadgets need to be serviced after bouncing and cable stretching. With that said, the kitchen slide, second smallest of the four finally needed full open heart repairs after it started squeaking, clanking, clattering and clunking. So, with that said, dug up the BAL Accuslide manual and refreshed whatever little is left of my mind and set to work. Slide out, 1" total cable play, slide in, ditto. OOPS - one of the cables dangles loose - now what? The BAL IB just doesn't cut it well. Then there is the fact that even from Keystone, there is no more adjustment. Dang, that means the chain has to be moved a link or two. But that creates another situation - the adjuster bar now drags over the motor and a different clunk. Fussed with more adjustments, got the cables with in and out set to about an inch of total slack and the adjuster bar angled ---- and it's now as quiet as only a cable slide can be. The BAL IB, an OK guide, but not necessarily a bible for adjusting these slides. You have to use your judgement and cycle the slide a few times for setting the cable tension.

Tools needed - 2x7/16" wrenches for the chain to adjusting bar and 1x3/8" wrench for the cable nuts. I bought some cheap Husky gear wrenches (~$2.50 ea.) from Home Depot that are now part of my RV tool kit. Time for this particular job was about an hour but for a standard, no chain move would have been much less.

One down, three to go (well, only one right now as the other two are still quiet)
