On mine low battery causes alarm to go off at a certain point.
Put in a cutoff switch, Harbor freight has a inexpensive one.
I leave it hooked up to a 15 watt 1 amp solar panel at home(mounted near camper) with the switch off.(it also works good all winter when covered)
When uncovered you can turn it on if you need battery power. EZ
I plug it in to garage day before leaving and run fridge.
