If you install a "twist on terminal valve" at the 3" outlet on the side of the trailer, you can leave the galley tank valve open and control the dumping from the terminal valve. The only "drawback" to that configuration is that the exposed drain line from the galley tank to the terminal connection (if it's exposed under the trailer) would be subject to freeze damage if you winter camp) If you don't winter camp, that would not be an issue and if you do, then during the winter, use the OEM galley valve to prevent water from standing in the exposed drain line.
