I suspect the videos you watched are for “winterizing” an RV by pumping RV antifreeze into the fresh water system. RV water pumps are not set up to pump water INTO the fresh water tank, only OUT OF.

I’m thinking you have the connection for a hose and a valve handle for either “tank fill” or “city water”. Adding water from a non pressurized source is not easy.
