I am curious to understand what people mean about unconditioned air? My chute goes into the front pass through which has closed doors on it. The chute itself is a plywood door which sits on a wood frame for support and is covered with carpet. I'm not sure what cold or hot air is readily making it's way in....certainly no more than the water pump compartment on the other side of the bed. I haven't noticed any and I've camped at 100° and 25°.

There must be a wide range of implementations for this.
