If battery disconnect (BD) is on, the battery won't charge and your interior lights won't operate. You will always have parasitic drain with the BD on such as the CO detector, memory on the radio, etc. The only way to fully stop all drain is to disconnect a battery cable.

With th BD off, the converter will charge your batteries. If you didn't disconnect your battery cables, you do not need to worry about the reverse polarity fuses. If you ever do remove your battery, be sure to note which cable is negative and which is positive.
