Your new 5er is roughly the same size and weight as our Cougar. We upgraded from a 27' bumper pull. Biggest difference is the height of the 5er. Watch out for tree branches!! The roof material is tissue paper thin and even small branches can tear it.
We pull with a 3/4 ton Ram diesel and did not notice much change in towing characteristics. In fact, our fuel milage stayed almost exactly the same. That said, backing the 5er is a bit different (trailer movements are more delayed) but didn't take long to get used to. Plus, you will have more "cheat" with the 5er so you'll need to make wider turns, especially right turns at intersections so the trailer doesn't clip the curb.
Hope this helps.
