Hmmmm I wonder if that's the new "sharred glass look" ????
Not to make light of your damage, but chances are it won't be a warranty repair. Depending on whether you can even find the replacement glass, it may be cheaper to buy a new fireplace and keep this one for "spare parts" in case something else breaks.
Maybe your dealer can do some "magic" to find a way to do a warranty repair but I wouldn't count on it. In the mean time, don't let him keep it at the shop waiting for repairs, after he sees the damage, put a piece of clear contact paper over the glass (so it won't fall out into the carpet) and keep on camping until he gets the final decision.
