Steve, Since you have already opened the belly of the beast you should be able to see if the valve is traveling all the way. If it is and still dripping then hankaye is most likely correct (as usual) and you will have to open the valve for repair. Good luck and let us know what you find. It is a fairly easy repair but not very pleasant.
