The simple answer is Yes, get the extension. My 5th wheel came with 40' 50 amp, I bought a 25' extension, cut the 40 in half with new ends, now the longest, heaviest is 25', which has worked most everywhere & have 65' total, which I have used a handful of times in the last 10 years. Seems like they are always a foot too short.
