When do you guys arrive and is it hard to get a "spot"?

I don't mind a little walk, but don't want to have to walk a few miles each way to the track.

Also, we don't mind arriving Monday or Tuesday to get a spot if need be.

No problem getting spots as its first come first serve. Its just a big open field, no marked camp spots. Its one of the Geico lots. The walk from where we camp is probably about 1/4-3/8 mile. I've heard of some that drive across and park in the parking areas near the track. We usually leave here on Tues and get within 250 miles or so and camp for the nite. Get up Wed morning, have breakfast, fill fresh water and dump all tanks then get in there around noon or so and get setup. Its all dry camping so you need water and a genny.
We won't or I should say I won't be there this next fall race because were planning on going to the new Charlotte road course. Might do spring race but not sure yet, we usually decide that about a week before after 4-5 beers, easier to make a decision that way!!
