What manufacturers electric brakes do you have? I checked a couple of websites and all state or have procedures for manually adjusting the electric brakes snug. They have to be close to engaging as the magnet arm which activates them when braking simply rotates a square cam (with limited movement and height) to push the brake pads out against the drums. So frequent adjustments would be a good idea to compensate for normal wear.
