When I was doing the walk through of my TT the WH kept sputtering but stayed lit. The tech said it was normal. What he didn't say or possibly didn't know was once all the air was out of the lines it would work great with a steady flame. Just tell your wife you used the forum as a test case to see how quickly everyone would respond. If she believes you or acts like she does take her out for a fancy meal. Think of it this way, your DW now thoroughly understands the WH. Now you need to figure out a way to get her to read all the other manuals too. Have fun.
