Hello,
My wife and I purchased in late 2017 the new Laredo 298srl 5th wheel based on it being 1/2 ton towable. I currently pull it with my leased 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 with the V8 in it. Shortly after purchasing it and noting that the truck is to small for it I added hellwig helper springs. They did make a difference but we will be replacing the truck with 3/4 or 1 ton when the lease is up in mid 2019.
Prior to purchasing that we owned for about a year a 2012 Keystone Laredo travel trailer that we bought used from the dealer. That was our first rv purchase.
We both enjoy the 5th wheel and our oldest daughter has since bought herself a new hybrid as her first rv along with her several other friends and family own their own rv's as well.
