Mikendebbie, your disconnect process is spot on. After auto level, as long as you do not restart or do any manual changes, the next time you power up, hit left/right at the same time and it should return to hitch height. Back up to pin, readjust height to slightly pick up trailer when you back under. Lock up pin and auto retract.
