While ours isn't exactly like the one you are looking at, we have an '08 Cougar 278 5th Rear Kitchen. The size and year are comparable, however. We have enjoyed our unit since we bought it new in '08 and it has been pretty much trouble-free. Our front landing jacks needed replacing but other than that, it has been without any other issues. Several small, DIY-type stuff but every unit has those.

There is a Pre-Delivery Inspection checklist available for you here on the forum to read and download if you wish. While it is intended for "new" units being purchased at a dealership, it will work for you just as well. Go to the Keystone Questions section of the forum and look for the sticky with the same name (PDI). Many members have used it and found it helpful.

Pay particular attention to any signs of leakage --- smell, discoloration, swelling, etc. The roof and slides should be given a good looking at and the slides and all other systems (plumbing and electrical) should be turned on and in good working order. Don't assume that everything will work when you take it home. Find out at the lot! Find out where the pump, winterizing bypass, manual slide over ride, HW tank switches, etc., are all located. If the "guy" doesn't know, find another "guy" at the lot who does.
