X 2 on John's comment. Think of it this way, If you take your vehicle to a garage for an oil change typically they include an "X" number point inspection, i.e. they check fluids, belts, battery, brakes, tire inflation, etc. The winterization should include the adjustments and inspections recommended in your owner's manual. If you are not comfortable doing that then pay someone to do it. Ignoring it will cost you more money in the future.
