I do as ken56 suggested. There have been many times when I've gone through Chicago no less that 60-65 mph pulling a 38 ft open car trailer. Get in a middle lane and stay there, that way you won't be bothered by entering traffic nor hold up the faster traffic. If I have a choice I prefer to hit it early morning or late at night and never on a holiday. Here's an interesting stop on I-90 overlooking the Missouri. Chamberlain SD Rest Area
