Let's look at this in practical terms. Jeff's photos show a nice, neat way of securing two tanks to the front of his TT. In reality, it would take longer to disconnect the two propane hoses from the tanks than to take any tool (say an old style tire tool) and pry the cross member away from the tank. Once one is bent out of the way then the second one just falls into your hands. Too much thought went into this solution. Eighteen inches of chain and the same lock and it is considerably harder to take them.
