There is a biking trail through Townsend and then Cades Cove, in the Smoky Mountain National Park is within about 15 minutes of the campground. On Wed. and Sat. mornings at Cades Cove area, they close down the "Loop" road to motorized traffic from dawn till 10AM and it is for bicycles and foot traffic only.....so that should be fun. Then of course, there are tons of hiking trails in the park, so that may be something we explore a bit also. We are both rank beginners at this stuff though, so nothing too advanced or difficult for now!

I rode Cade’s Cove last summer. Absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately I should have brought my hybrid or mountain bike. My road bike’s gearing and my legs didn’t like the rolling hills much. Enjoy
