I use Velcro adhesive strips on the back of my rear view mirror and Velcro "fuzzy strips" on the back of my 7" monitor. I mount it on the right side of my rear view mirror during towing and store it in the console when not towing. There's about 3 or 4 inches of "exposed mirror" when the monitor is mounted, just enough to see the nose of the trailer and tell that it's still there. Essentially, the monitor becomes my "rear view mirror" as I still see what's behind the rig.
