Welcome from Maryland. Lots of knowledgeable people here to help you on your journey. I've owned several boats and several "towable" RV's and here's my observation on the differences: Boats move on their own and RV's have wheels. But seriously, In my experience the biggest difference is in the electrics. The boating industry adheres to higher standards in color coding, type of wire/breakers/fixtures/etc. (marine grade" while the RV industry not so much.
