It’s a very tight fit and that’s normal. Put some axle grease on the seals to hold them in place on the flange. Then spread the opening and slide the valve in place. You can rotate the valve to make sure it’s seated and the seals aren’t pinched. It isn’t easy, but it’s the way we do it here in the shop, a second set of hands can make all the difference.
