If your coming into Oregon on I-84. There is a lot to explore or see. It was mentioned the Pendleton casino. I 2nd the campground, been there many times. The Columbia river gorge is nice to drive through that time of year. I can tell you were you will see big horn sheep, in the mornings their close the the freeway. No safe place to park and watch them. You can easily make it to the coast in 1 day from Pendleton to Astoria to camp at or near the Columbia river and Pacific Ocean. I can explain how to by pass Ptld. Many historic things to see around Astoria besides the Ocean. The highway 101 from Astoria to Seattle has much to see and visit. I-5 freeway from Ptld to Seattle not much so much, just lots of traffic. If you want to visit Mt. St Helens you need to do that by taking I-5. If your going I-84 though Oregon, I can provide details about stay and sight seeing. Just ask.
