Doggy doors, around here (we live in the woods) allow dogs to come and go as will. They also allow skunks, coons, possums, rats, squirrels, chipmunks and a host of other "unwelcome visitors" to come and go at will....
Given that much of the time camping (not fulltiming in a resort) is spent "in the woods", then I'd be reluctant to install an "invitational entry" for the above listed "pests"....
When coupled with the concern about that "long first step" and what to do with the "2 part solid/screen door"... installing a "hole in the door" doesn't sound very appealing, at least not to me....
