Thanks for the replies folks. I don't think it was towed using a gooseneck. And it was not like this when I bought it. A broken frame is my worst fear, and I don't even want to know how much that would be to disassemble and repair. I am heading for the US in a few weeks, and now I am afraid to drive with it like this. I am supposed to be leaving tomorrow for southern Alberta. I don't want to overreact, but I don't want to make any damage worse either. Why would this be happening with so few miles on the rig? I have not overloaded or abused it.
