It sounds like the trip to the CAT scales not only confirms your weights, but also gives you the "security of knowing" exactly where you stand. It's always comforting to know (not guess) that you're within the limits of your tow vehicle capacity.
One thing I'd caution you to remember is that your tow vehicle weight is 6960, which is only 40 pounds below your truck's GVW. Every trip brings "weight creep" as you add a couple of tools, a pot or pan, a new set of chocks, a tool or a toy or another set of blankets or ????? And, if you omit the "take something not needed out" actions, all those "little things" keep adding up. So, stay on top of what you add, always think about loading heavy items close to the floor and lighter items in higher areas, "fore/aft" loading to maintain tongue weight and remember it's not the size of the storage capacity rather it's the weight you put in that storage bin.
