In command light dimming

Added Inexpensive Battery Disconnect Switch

I pulled the panel and discovered that the button for the battery level is part of a small circuit board with very small wires so I decided to connect the new battery monitor to the battery...

Is the battery Monitor on the on the system panel directly connected to the battery or at least the 12V side of the converter for a most accurate reading or is it just connected to any 12 volt source?
