Wiring

Thanks for the replies. I was unable to follow it back into the trailer. The orange wire goes into the trailer behind the bulkhead. I'll spend some more time with the multi meter. Does anyone...

Evaporative cooling

In NM we call them swamp coolers. They do work well down here, except when it is humid outside. Obviously they bring in a lot of moisture into the house - which would be very problematic in a...

What an idiot...

Disconnected hitch, pulled forward, wife heard a "crunch"...great way to start the weekend in the woods.

I pulled up a chair, got out the multi-meter, and started...

Loose fender skirts

I've owned 2 cougars and they both had areas around the fender skirts that flapped in the breeze at freeway speeds. I secured them with safety wire to the adjuster bolts. I drilled a small hole in...

Steady fast

I specifically chose the Steady Fast because of the longer arms. Longer arms triangulating works very well (I'm sure an engineer can better explain torque moments etc to illustrate the advantages of...

Steadyfast

Another vote for steadyfast. Have had it on last two 5th wheel trailers. Makes all the difference in the world. Installation is straightforward, instructions are well written. The owner includes...

Charger question

I am upgrading to four 6 volt golf car batteries in anticipation of a future solar upgrade. Will the stock converter / charger be of sufficient strength to keep these charged? Or should I upgrade? ...

Steady Fast

No issues with the battery compartment at all. I did have to route the propane hose under top part of one of the cross bars. Works fine.

Propane and propane accessories...

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I figured getting some use out of the available quick connect was worth a try; getting a custom extended hose is the (most) right decision for me.

I really...

Hooking in to propane system

Like most of you I have a quick connect LP fitting coming out of the bottom of my 5th wheel. I use it for my camp chef etc.

I have a large 100# propane bottle I use in my shop. My question is...

Steady Fast System

I recently brought home a 2012 cougar 5th wheel trailer. That week I installed a Steady Fast system - definitely a must have.

Also one of the teflon rings for the pin box.

Now get out and...

Steady Fast

I second the Steady Fast endorsement. Have had them on two trailers and they are the best. No movement at all; you have to see it to believe it. Well spent $ 300.00.

5th Airborn / Sidewinder

I had similar concerns. My hitch is the B&W Companion, and it specifically states using this type of device would void the hitch warranty. That was enough for me...

I agree a slider would work...

Love it!

Love: weight, pulls like a dream, fit / finish is excellent.

Hate: fixed them (see signature). Also replaced drawer guides in pan drawers and put in a battery isolation switch.

Sure, any...

I saw the steady fast system first hand at the national rally in ABQ a couple of years ago. Seeing is believing. Very good investment (and not that much $). You deal with the owner personally;...
