Just verified, that is a laminated floor, so it’s veey possible the spongy feel the OP is referring to is the foam core. Knowing that, I would just verify there’s no water leaks and not be concerned...

I think all cougars are dynaspan not laminated so no foam core to collapse. That’s more for a passport, bullet, or Outback. I’ll doible check that info
