Have you looked at the specs for towing with a 14 year old Escalade vs the trailer you have? I suspect you might be enlightened if you choose to look into being safe.

Replace the LED. They go out from time to time generally flickering first. I have had them smoke and quit. Depending on the type of fixture hopefully you can just unplug it and put in a new one.
