I've replaced the wood because I wanted to put in a slightly bigger mattress, so I removed the chipboard and put in custom cut plywood...very easy to do.

I believe the waxes you chose are petroleum based and that's why they are not recommended for vinyl. Try Aero Cosmetics' Wash & Wax All--it's water based.

I've had two bad experiences with them on other RVs so I replace it with a Watts LF288A as soon as I can. The first experience, it was installed backwards and leaked several gallons before I noticed....
