If they are quiet and close correctly, I wouldn't touch them - unless you really just feel like you need lots of exercise getting up and down on a step stool then doing a cable check outside:nonono:

Catchy title and I guess I know why they need to be adusted.

Cable operated slides are really pretty trouble free but you do need to do 'surgery' occasionally as I'm finding out.
