Quick Connect LPG

1 Attachment(s)
Hello I would like to know what kind of hose I need to use to convert a BBQ that uses the 1lb tanks over to the quick connect on our new camper Passport ELITE 19RB thank you in advance

All the major RV store areas carry the hose. It has the male for the RV end, similar to automotive air tools, and the grill end matches the threaded part on the end of your one pound tanks.

You will need to remove the regulator that the screw on tank attaches to in order to connect it to the on board gas line.

Actually you can get a male end like the one on your RV outlet and screw it into the female end after you take off the regulator. Then buy a detachable hose of the appropriate length and store when not in use. No winding the hose around the BBQ. Just a thought. I did this.

I've converted several grills and smokers this way. Typically a 1/8" or 1/4" pipe thread male quick connect and an extension hose of appropiate length. Very easy.

Ptooti, I believe this will get you going in the right direction:

Question for y'all! Are the propane quick connects a special type made only for propane/gas use, OR would the quick connects that I use on my air compressors be safe to use? I currently use the Milton "V" quick connects for my compressors and air tool devices, but not sure if they are "rated" for propane use......is there a difference in standards?

xrated, I hope others chime in on your question as well but I recall reading a post on the site previous that stated there was a difference between compressed air and gas fittings.

Iím not an expert by any stretch but I do believe in using the right tool for the job. Quick connect for LP is made for LP and quick connect for compressed air is made for... its not like there is a huge price difference worth taking the chance.

JMHO, YMMV.
