Since my last post of 2/27 and 2/28 in the new member section, our dealer was able to switch our table and chairs in our Cougar Xlite 29FKS for a brand new dinette booth which has the fancier Sedona Suede pattern as found in the Cougar 324RLB and the Cougar Xlite 30FKV New XV Series to name a couple. Initially our sales person had mentioned there would be a cost associated with it because of labor, but at the end, we weren't charged anything which is the way it should be anyway. We finally picked it up on April 17th and we took it on its maiden voyage (a long weekend) on the May 21-24 Victoria Day weekend.

Everything worked like a charm except the TV. For some reason, we didn't turn it on while doing our PDI as who would think that a brand new set would not work.... Well if you push the Power button on the remote or on the set directly, you hear a click, then there's a brief flicker of light on the screen, then everything is black with no sound at all. You can't even get the menu to show on the screen!!!

Oh and there was a little oopsie on my part. Being that this is our very first TT, we didn't realize that the blinds' cords are very tight for transport purposes and when I was trying to close the blind on one of the small window in the slide-out, I forced it a little bit too much and the cord broke. I couldn't believe it when the dealer said he would just order another blind under the warranty. I didn't think that those types of breakage would be covered but I'm sure glad the dealer is replacing the whole thing as opposed to us having to restring the blind....They've shipped the TV back to Keystone for them to send us another unit which better work properly.....!:)

We've discovered other mods we need to do and/or want to do like reduce the noise of the water pump, reading lights above the bed, change the thermostat, etc...
We've reserved 3 more extended weekends in July and August and will probably go in September as well. That's plenty of time to tinker around and do the mods.

We wish everyone a great camping season!

I'm always glad to hear someone with a positive story. Thanks and Enjoy your TT and your dealer. (He's a rare one.) Hank

;)Well our dealer has done it again. :) Our TV issue is already settled with our dealer offering us either replacement or cash in lieu for us to pick one. We chose the cash and found a great set with built-in DVD player for $100.00 less than the amount given to us. We've also received our replacement blind.
And to top this off, we had a major problem over the weekend while camping when a water valve, on the toilet, broke and water just started spraying out all over the bathroom floor, onto the bedroom carpet, etc, until one of us could turn the water off. Both times we had taken the TT out for camping (this weekend being the 2nd time), we had found some water next to the toilet but didn't know where it had come from. Obviously it was leaking from the valve which had a crack in it, unknown to us.
We called our dealer who was 2 hours away from where we were and they suggested we go to this other Keystone dealer, located a couple of miles from our campground, and they should honor the warranty. We got the part but we paid for it as the warranty person was not there. Our dealer reimbursed us the amount right away on the spot when we went over on Tuesday.
We also had a pressure plate, on our Husky Centerline WD hitch, break and fall off. Our complete hitch head was replaced that day as well. It appears that Husky had just issued a notice with respect to a bad batch of pressure plates affecting hitches installed between certain dates. Ours was done on April 17, 2010.

So far we're pretty impressed and pleased with our dealer. Everything has been dealt with in a very professional manner and very efficiently.

Our dealer is Camping in Style on Hwy 12 in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada.

We had the same valve break and water sprayed all around, lots of fun with clean up. CW and Keystone promptly got us a new valve that was reinforced in the area that cracked. My sons trailer had the very same problem last year. Our CW dealer in Burlington, Wa. has been very helpful with minor problems and installation of accessories. We love our Cougar!! John VE

When you winterized your Cougar, did you make sure that you had RV antifreeze in the line leading to the toilet and flushed it until you saw the pink stuff flow down the sides of the bowl?

It is possible that the valve cracked because the water in the valve and flush mechanism froze and cracked it.

You need to make sure to buy that dealer a big bottle of his favorite adult beverage, dealers like that are very rare and need to be rewarded and closely guarded....
