Hello everyone!

My bride of 34 years and I jumped in with all 4 feet and purchased an 04 5er, and an 03 GMC 2500HD CC last September. We were able to use them a few times before winter set in and absolutely love the RV experience. Luckily both vehicles were owned by people who had bought them new, treated them very well, and demonstrated pride of ownership.

Friends of ours purchased a 3 year older version of the same 5er we did, but did so about a month before we did. After touring their trailer my wife obviously got the bug, searched out our trailer on the internet at a dealership 5 hours away, showed me the pictures and asked what I thought. Being the wise man that I am, I recognized her need for a toy ( completely ignoring the fact of my 3 antique cars ) and we went for a drive to see the trailer. Needless to say, several days later we owned the 5er and found the diesel TV a week later still.

We parked it in our driveway, invited another couple we were good friends with over for dinner, they toured the trailer, and low and behold ... three weeks later they bought a 5er as well and are presently looking for a diesel TV. There's more!

Another couple we are good friends with toured our trailer and even shared a weekend camping with us in our unit last fall ... and purchased a small travel trailer last week.

My bride informed me today that the entire group of us are booked for the first camping weekend in two weeks time.

Looks like we got a convoy!!

Having been married for 34 years, you should know by now that you should always listen to what your "bride" has to say. As you have said, you are a wise man and have indeed paid close attention. Your wife can never have enough toys so go out, buy a Duramax diesel and keep her happy. Enjoy your wife's toys and welcome to the forum.

Festus2,
Thanks for the greeting and the advice!

Yes, I love the Duramax, my first. She has lots of power for hauling our Cougar which weighs in at just under 10 000 lbs loaded. I've joined a Duramax site to help learn all of the things to watch out for. I'm looking forward to this site doing the same thing for our 5er.

As for my bride, she continues to be the source of my greatest joy.

Regards,

Gene
