Your thoughts? 2910bh vs 3180 for a family with 5 kids.

Here is the 3180 http://rvmama.com/rear-entertainment-double-slide-outs/

I love the bunkhouse for the kids in the 2910, but I live the entertainment area in the 3180....

Thoughts?

You already have the Bunkhouse, which I think is the best setup for a family with kids. The 3180 just doesn’t have the sleeping accommodations that’ll work long term for the kids. It’s nice to have your own bunk/space that’s *yours* 24/7 while on a trip (I think this is paramount). The Bunkhouse central area is already pretty good for an entertainment area. My kiddo plops down on the floor, or sits on a steps tool to watch TV, or sits in the dinette or couch.

I have 4 kids and we love the 2910BH...and love the rear access door. Flip up lower bunk and you have a great rear "garage" for bikes and other items that are usually outside at campsite. Slide out is large with dinnet and couch...and plenty of outside storage. Not many complaints except for small black/grey and fresh water tanks (I believe all are 30gls).

We have the 3180 and you are right, the double slides makes a big difference but there is just myself and DW. With 5 kids, I don't think the 3180 is a good fit for you with the kids (not enough comfortable sleeping arrangements). If you want to stay with the Passport, look at the full bunk house lineup. if you can pull the 3180, you can also pull the longer bunk houses.

go bunkhouse, its worth it. YOU WILL NEED YOUR SPACE.:bdance: don't matter how close you all are. speeking with two kids myself. plus you don't go camping to watch your entertainment stand. its nice when the weather is bad, but that's what card/board games are for too!!! and them awnings cover a nice area to keep you dry, just so its not windy:rofl:

we have a outback 295RE, similar front layout with the double slides and DW and I love it. It also works well with our grown kids/grandkids when they come along. BUT if we had smaller kids I'd go for a bunkhouse. Yes, the extra space is great, especially during the day. downside is at night. At least with grown kids along THEY need to make up and put down the airbed (which is comfortable) and put grandkids to bed. But it does impinge on using the big living area once they go to bed. So it is nice when they come along and is useable, but not what we would want if it was more the DW and I all the time.

Have you looked at the 3220BH? There's plenty of room for the kids in the back, you have your space in the front. GVWR is 7500 pounds. I could go on and on...can you tell I love my Passport? :)
