Need auto glass? I have a suggestion.

I was unfortunate enough to pick up a stone chip in my windshield as I traveled south last week.

Even more unfortunately the chip decided to run and now I was faced with a full blown crack across the bottom of my windshield.

I waited till after Christmas to deal with it and to also gave myself time to do some research on who to use for replacement.

So the real point here. I used Safelite Autoglass. http://www.safelite.com/

All I can say is WOW. What service!!! I am totally impressed by my experience and pricing I received.

A new windshield installed via mobile service was a grand total of $277 bucks.

I booked my appointment online yesterday. I then received a call from them within 5 minutes to work out the final details.:thumbsup:

I was scheduled in for today. The tech surfaced on time and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. :thumbsup:

Workmanship was top notch!!

What a pleasant experience!!

I'll recommend these guys to anybody who needs glass work.

That's refreshing news! In the past with my insurance company, it's been tough to get them to replace with OEM glass, do you know if your's was OEM? Heck, in Alaska where I moved from, it you don't have at least three chips and a runner, you're not driving enough...other than right down town, where they use chemical, they use a sand/salt/pea gravel mix, and it stays for a loooong time after breakup before they sweep it up.

The glass was not OEM or genuine GM parts. I personally feel I got a good quality glass.

I did call back to Manitoba to make a glass claim via my insurance. They were very helpful and more than prepared to replace my windshield. My deductable is $200 with them.

I spoke to them before booking appointment for replacement.

After being quoted and paying $277.57 to be exact. I will be cancelling my claim.

I expected the worst and a huge bill for replacement.

In Manitoba we get 6 months of winter and then 6 months of bad ice fishing (just kidding) and between salt and sand on the roads. It plays hell on glass.

Ironically enough, I picked up my stone chip near Dalhart Texas. The very next morning it ran. The heat on the cold windshield is what finished it off.

SAFELITE IS A VERY GOOD COMPANY I HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS AT MY SHOP. GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD EXPERIANCE. YOUR GLASS MY NOT BE OEM BUT IT MEETS THE SAFTY STANDARS. AND THEY USE THE CORRECT ADHISIVE TO INSTALL IT SO IT WILL NOT FALL OUT IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY.:thumbsup:

State Farm Ins sent them to replace 2 windshields for us... once stone chip; once hail crack. EXCELLENT. Replaced them in our driveway. Zero inconvenience and FAST!

While traveling last year out west, we got one stone chip while driving through Yellowstone and a month or so later got one passing around Seattle on I-5.

Both times State Farm sent someone to do a fill - worked fine until about 2 months ago when both fills - fell out!

Went and got them filled again locally.

I previously was insured with State Farm in FL and we had no deductibles down there for a repair or a replaced windshield.

But now a resident of Georgia and State Farm tells me I gotta first pay my $500 deductible to get one replaced and only IF it is cracked on the drivers side is it considered an impairment...........

Moving has its advantages and disadvantages......Good news is my auto insurance on 3 vehicles costs 1/2 what it did in Florida!
