The water pump in the trailer after our last outing is sounding a little tired. Seems to run for a very long time after all the facets are shut off so I'm thinking of replacing it before it fails. Has any one had any experience with the new flow type pumps. These don't run based on pressure but on flow demand. We have one on the house well and really like it. I had read some discouraging comments when they first came on the market but wanted to see if there are any recent thoughts. I've included a couple of links to the ones I'm considering.

Thx

Bob

If $$$ was not a consideration, it might be easy to go for the higher-priced pump. The brief outline of the specs seems to indicate that it is the better of the two --- probably quieter, more gpm, etc. It also draws more power so if you do a lot of dry-camping, you might want to keep that in mind. Seems like a decision between buying a Cadie or a Chev........?

My water pump on our 2011 got to where it was running a long time, sometimes I didn't think it was going to shut off so I would turn the pump off untill I needed it again. I keep a spare from past experience and swapped it out. I did find a very small seep on the pump when I did the swap out, I thought it was coming from the housing at the time and thought maybe I had some freeze damage from our past winter. Once home I hooked up the pump to a battery with a valve on the discharge hose and it seemed to hold a lot better, I'm thinking about replacing the pressure switch and seeing if that doesn't give me a quicker shut off. I think the leak was actually a fitting on the discharge side of the pump. Sure glad I had a spare..
