I Just bought a 2012 Fuzion 300. Bumper pull with a garage. I am curious as to how it will tow loaded with my Razer 900. Does any one have this model or any input? I'm wondering if my 1000lb round bar WD hitch with friction sway bar will be adequite also?

Before the members can adequately respond to your question, they would need to know what Tow Vehicle you have.

Ok, Thanks I'm towing with a 2006 Duramax shortbed crew, chipped, 6" lift, 35" tires

Welcome to the forum LaFortune,

We don't have a toyhauler, but we do have an '06 Duramax, crew cab, standard bed.

I'm *guessing* that your Razor weighs about 1200 lbs, and that you typically dry camp??

That said -- be careful about how much total cargo weight you add to the trailer. With the Razor loaded,
plus a full tank of fresh water (875+ lbs), and 3 LP tanks, plus food, clothes, tools, fuel, generator?, etc...
you'll quickly reach your truck's max towing rate before you know it. (12,000 lbs. trailer/bumper pull for the '06).

Specs from Keystone website -- IMHO, the 1000 lbs hitch won't be adequate.

2012 Fusion 300
Shipping Weight 8490 (dry, no options)
Carrying Capacity 4510
Hitch 1300 (dry, no options)

We've never towed with a 'lifted' truck... hopefully someone can offer input about that.

Terri, the Chevy co-pilot :)

Terry, I think you are about spot on with the lbs. I think my issue might be getting enough weight on the hitch, versus all that weight in the garage. with that being said, i wonder if a stouter hitch will help, what with a light tongue weight. A member on this sight has a Raptor 30fs and is having this issue, and it makes sense. Just to much weight on the rear. I don't really think the lift will affect things either way. I think my trailer is a little too new to know for sure. But it does have me a little worried

If you do a forum search on "toy haulers" you should find some posts regarding the weight distribution and loading of these types of RV's. Some have found that they need to redistribute weight from one place to another, put fluids in holding tanks, and do other things to get the correct "balance". Check these posts to see what others have done who have had similar concerns about hitch/pin weight vs garage weight.
Whatever you decide to do, you must consider the towing capacity of your truck and the GVWR of the RV and ensure that you do not exceed either or both.
Adding spring helpers, airbags and other similar accessories to a truck will not increase its towing capacity. They may make the ride feel more comfortable and may even out the TV and the TT.
When you talk about a 6" lift and 35" tires, the picture I have in my mind is something like a "monster mud truck"..... but I am obviously on the wrong channel --- or am I?

We are currently pulling a fuzion 295 bumper pull with a Polaris RZR 800 inside. We are pulling with a 2007 Chevy Duramax Crew Short Bed. We have they Husky Center Line system with the 1200lb bars (I think). We have had no problems. We always camp dry so have a full fuel tank and fresh water. I am not sure how the lifted truck may change things. If you would like more info. feel free to ask and I will pass the questions along to my husband! Happy Camping Heidi

Thanks Heidi, I think i just need to load it up and take a pre trip, trip and see how it does. I cant imagine that they would design a trailer that would have issues with loading it like it was designed to be loaded. we will just have to have some faith and see ;)

I have a Keystone raptor 30fs - It took a 56 gallon water tank 6 ft from the front and 8 sandbags to get my trailer to pull safe. How did yours turn out?

I seen where you postd before about your trailer and sway. Something does not seem right. If you added 56 gallons of water, thats 465 pounds of water plus 8 sand bags at 30 pounds, I'm guessing, so 240 thats an additional 700 plus pounds added to the front. So roughly speaking you increase the weight on your hitch by over 400 pounds, making it close to 2000 lbs on the hitch also now reducing your cargo capacity to roughly 3500 lbs.

Did you actually get hitch weights prior to adding tank and sandbags? Also when loaded w/ atv's? How about now since making the changes? If this has already been posted drop me a link. I am following with great interest and would like to help solve the issue or find the mystery.

I will let you know Monday how I make out as we will be getting our 30 FS on Sunday and will be making a beeline run to Phoenix.

I have a family of 6, the oldest is now 10. We can fit in our current rig the Passport 238 and we mostly dry camp and hunt in our trailer. I'm considering upgrading both TV and trailer and am looking at the Fuzion 300. I like the layout and the slide out which would give us enough beds and living room however I'm concerned about the total length of 35'.
We mostly dry camp in the forest and this length will be more difficult to manage offroad. I ruled out a 5er because I think it will be too tall getting through the trees in the forest.
Anyone with a toy hauler this long that spends some time dry camping have any advice?

I live in the NW where there are many small roads with tight turns through the trees. I move slowly but I get where I want to go.
