We have the Maxx-Fan (all-in-one, manual model 5100) in our bedroom overhead ---
On the first night of our most recent trip, we found the vent lid had apparently 'come open' during the day... something had obviously broken, the knob would spin freely, and the lid would not close! We had both checked all the vents before leaving town, so there was no one to blame for this one (other than gremlins) ;) Triple digit day-time temps & 2600+ miles ahead, we simply tied the vent lid 'closed' from the inside and continued on our 2 week journey.
Contacted Maxx-Fan Customer Service when we returned, (spoke with Adrienne) & explained the problem. 3 days later a new "manual operator assembly" arrived at our door... all covered under warranty.
Less than one hour of our time for repair & the fan is "good as news".
Kudos to Maxx-Air/Maxx-Fan for prompt service on warranty replacement parts & great customer service.
