Raptor 395LEV - sewer hose storage and "mystery valve"

Hello all,

I am new to the world of RVs. I've done a lot of homework and have learned a ton since picking up my 2012 Raptor 395LEV 5th wheel toy hauler. Overall, things have gone smoothly with learning about all the systems on the unit.

A couple noob questions though... 1) Is there a place to store the sewer hose? There is a small hatch on the front of the unit next to the generator that seems to have no real purpose, wondering if that is it? Seems pretty shallow though.

2) Under the sink in the front bathroom, there are 4 water lines. Two of course go to the sink with valves (hot and cold), and then there are two blue lines, connected together with a valve in between them. I have no idea what this valve is for? All other valves are at the "convenience center" on the outside panel (winterize, water heater bypass, fill, etc). The owners manual I received is very generic and doesn't talk about this specific model.

That "valve" at the top of those two blue lines is most likely the back-flow preventer for your black tank flush system. People have occasionally found that thing to be installed backwards and that results in a flood in the bathroom the first time the system is used. Since your trailer is a 2012 model it is most likely installed correctly or else the flush system has never been used. You should be good to go.

Merlin is correct on most points. I might add that it is a very common occurrence for that valve to go bad. At seven years old, it might be wise to pick up a brass replacement at a good hardware store to keep handy.
On edit, after reading Chuckster's post I realize there should be no leak.

If it’s installed backwards there is no water flow. Common for a particular brand we sell..just about a sure bet along with failing manometer test during PDI.

As stated that valve installed on the two blue lines is the back flow valve to the black tank flush also as stated if installed backward you will have no flow to the spray in the black tank. There is no place to store sewer hose(s) on the rig, I and many others have installed a sewer hose container to the frame under the garage. Many of us used a 4x4 vinyl post with a gutter installed inside and caps on the ends. do a search and you will find my solution as well as many others. Mine holds 25 feet of sewer hose

That little compartment near the generator is a JOKE :facepalm:, I use it for sewer hose connections, works well for that.
