Very strong sewer odor inside the 5th wheel in the middle of the night. In investigating where the smell was coming from reveled that the black tank was leaking into the belly of the trailer, around the tank installation. UGH!!!.:(
Since the unit was new in January and still under warrantee, I dropped the unit off at my local dealer, still dripping poo, not a good time since its the July 4th weekend and probely not going to get looked at until next week.
I feel that unless the tank itself split, the most logical problem is that either the vent pipe came loose or the drain fitting. I was reading up on RV Black tank installations, and there are apparently slip joints and threaded joints used in tank installation of the vent lines, ect.
My question is: Does anyone know what style connections or how Keystone installs their black tanks? I feel sorry for the RV Tech that gets this job and I hope keystone gets an earful if its installation defect, if they don't get the smell out when it gets repaired, I'll be on their case.
Thanks for any help.

Royal, Howdy;

Please read the linked thread for this forum;
It may not be the same as your black tank, BUT, it should work. If any carpet has been 'contaminated' don't let them say , Oh, we shampooed it it will be OK..... it won't and you might ask the local Health Dept. about their standards. It should be replaced IMO or at least sanitized (there IS a difference).

Thanks Hank.
Luckily (I think), the poo is trapped between the frame and that plastic belly cover they put on trailers. Needless to say, that cover will have to be removed just to get to the tank an clean out the belly. Not a good start for a new rig.
