I have a 2007 Copper Canyon that needs new skins. The decision about whose tires to buy seems to be made difficult by the fact that so many are made in Asia; mostly China.
I would like to buy American.
Can anyone tell me when Goodyear moved production of the Marathon back to the US?
Are there any any others made in the US?

I was at a truck tire dealer last week to get my 5er wheels balanced and asked him the same question. He told me that ALL trailer rated tires are made in China. He was a Michelin & Goodyear dealer.

I was disappointed, especially since trailer tires from China do not have a sterling reputation.

He also passed along the advice to move my trailer frequently when it is inactive because tread separation starts when a heavily loaded tire is parked for a long period. FWIW

IMHO the best 15" tires are made in Taiwan, by company named Maxxis. A search on rv.net will yield almost no negative comments on Maxxis. Mine sure worked great on last TT.

I do not use Chinese tires.

We put MAXXIS on our camper end of 2008 and they are still on it and we traveled across the country last year for ten months. They still have lots of tread and we've never had a blowout with them either.

We like the MAXXIS tire.

Thanks for the recommend. I saved the link for my next trailer tires.

In the mid 90's when Goodyear had the recall on Marathon tires, we wound up with Maxxis tires on our Holiday Rambler. They were great and when we sold it several years later, they were still going strong. We elected to put Maxxis tires on our Covered cargo trailer 3 years ago and they are still performing well. When it's time to replace tires on our fifth wheel, they will be Maxxis.
