Opposable Faucets?

Well, finally completed the 1800 miles to get the 2 Rv's back to Texas, MH safely parked on lot near SATX. Enjoying the Elite 23RB now in north Texas panhandle. I saw a couple of items in the forum about "backward" faucets...don't know if this is the same issue. We have opposable faucets in the lavy, both shower and sink. ?? Just to clarify....if you're holding the faucets, hot in left hand and cold in right....you turn left hand left and right hand right. Can this be easily fixed? Figure they should both turn to the right...like most "normal" faucets. (yeah, I know :facepalm: its an rv). Any suggestions? I hate to replace brand new faucets...

I have seen backwards cold side faucets in numerous RV's and always wondered why they would use them other than the cheap cost. Only fix I know of is replacement. You DONT have to use an RV faucet, just go to the local big box hardware store and pick out the one you want.

Figure they should both turn to the right...like most "normal" faucets. (yeah, I know :facepalm: its an rv). Any suggestions? I hate to replace brand new faucets...The stem/stem's (valve) can be replaced with out removing the faucets. Only thing is, I have not had to buy any yet to see if they are available in Hot and Cold or left and right. Perhaps some clarification will be mentioned.

Valve stems can be replaced, but i would think you have to replace the entire valve assembly to change the direction of threads.

The one and only RV faucet I did take apart the threads were in the stems themselves. OP will have to verify as to what they have. I had this once with a home faucet - the cartridges were "swapped" (what I mean is the hot was in the cold and vice versa). Perhaps if you tried swapping the cartridges it would work as desired.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Getting used to it...but its weird. May hit a hardware store next time we're around one. Of course it a "no name" faucet so can't ask the manufacturer. Going to be "in the woods" for a while....so by the time we hit a town with any stores, might be "the norm" for us. Glad to hear we're not the only ones out there who've experienced it though.

I may be confused:confused:, but on our galley sink, the left(hot) valve rotates counter/clockwise or towards the spout and the right(cold) valve rotates clockwise or towards the spout. The replacement Moen that I installed in the bathroom vanity is the same. The shower, which are round knobs both turn the same way - on is counter/clockwise and off is clockwise.
If your faucets have handles instead of knobs, I think they are correct?

Forest river uses the "backwards" cold side faucet in the Sun Seeker line. I don't like it because our detail person thinks she is turning the faucet off and when I turn on the water pump during a walk through it starts running.
