Anyone owning a Keystone Passport Ultra-Lite TT ever get up on the roof to inspect the seams/seals? I need to do this on this make/model for the first time in a few days, and am trying to plan how best to get around up there. I am also going to install some Eternabond over the roof seams as a preventitive maintenance measure. As always, I want to minimize the chance of making a "BradinOhio shaped" skylight in the roof of the trailer. Did you just ladder on up and walk around on it, did you use any plywood or other planking to help distribute your weight, or did you just scoot around on your belly/chest in a prone position to distribute the weight? Anyone have any experience here? Thanks in advance.

One way is to wrap a couple pieces of 24" X 24" X 1/2" plywood squares or whatever you have with some carpet. Some folks use three or four pieces, just figure out what you need. This will spread your weight out and the carpet will keep the wood from gouging the rubber roof. Be sure what ever you do to cover the sharp corners of the wood to keep from punching a hole in the rubber.

If it were me, I would inspect around the edges without getting on the roof. Then do all the other places. This keeps you off of some of the roof.

Then again some people just get up there. For me, as much as I weigh, I use the plywood.

I have a Passport ultra lite.
Been on the roof for cleaning, used a ladder.
Tried to walk on rafters but did get inbetween without a problem.
I weigh 185 and am 64 years old.

How did it go? I have a 290BH, just wanting to see what you did.

We have a 2010 Passport 300BH...right after we got it home last year, a recall notice came for roof seals (caulking?), not sure right now. Took it to the dealer, they just walked right on it to inspect everything (it passed).:p
I have been on it once to inspect myself and give it a thorough cleaning.:bdance:
I think the construction is meant to hold your weight just fine.
Hope this helps!

I have used a ladder to get up on my 3050BH to look around and clean slides out. I stick to the outside as much as possible and step on the rafters. Seemed to be fine.

MY wife and I have a 2011 PAssport and want to add solar to the roof in front. Do you know what the layout is for construction of this type roof on trailer before I attach the PAnels to roof. Only 2 panels."bouncey:

I never go on my Premier roof without the use of a piece of plywood and I stay on the rafters, also I put foam on the rungs of the ladder to protect the sidewalls

Hope this helps
