So the other day in the mail I get some class action lawsuit about a norcold fridge recall. My unit is a 2012 raptor. And the recall I looked up was up to 2011. Now I realize many rvs are made the previous year and the year they say it is , is the next year

Just curious if there is another recall out there or not. I did do the search on this form and only found one thread. I called the dealer and they don't know

Any thoughts

You can check for recalls/notifications for any Keystone product on their website. Recalls are located in the "owner's" tab located at the top of the homepage. You can also link to the recall information for all Keystone products here: http://www.keystonerv.com/customer-service/recalls-notifications

ADDED: There is a Norcold recall that includes Raptor trailers. The recall is located here: http://www.keystonerv.com/media/160786/Recall.10-150%20Norcold%20Refrigerator%20-%20Web.pdf

It appears that the recall does not include your 2012 trailer. It affects 2011 Raptor Fifth Wheels manufactured from 5/10/2010 – 10/21/2010. If you have any questions, you can contact Keystone Customer Service at (866) 425-4369. If you contact them, have your VIN available.

Your link to the raptor recall doesn't work for me. I'm using my phone app so that may be the problem.

I just "clicked" on the link and it opened on my desktop computer. Possibly it's the "phone app" ??? Try it from a "real computer" and if it doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if I can post the entire recall notice as an attachment.

Popped right up on my iPad using web browser. FWIW I haven't had a desktop computer for the last 5 years, can't say I miss it.

There were recalls across a number of years. Easiest way to check is with Norcold directly:
http://www.thetford.com/customer-support/recall-information/

The class action lawsuit is a settlement with Norcold if you owned one of the impacted (recalled) fridges.

What!!! How can you read all those little words on the internet without a 25" monitor:eek:?? If I was trying to read that little screen they would have to find me some octafocal glasses instead of my quadfocals:(

The card has nothing to do with a recall, it is strictly about a class action law suit.

If you read the notice, the deadline to file was last year so you would not be eligible.

The link worked fine for me, but the interesting thing is that it doesn't appear to list all of the recalls (at least for my model). The most recent one for the Dometic thermostat is not provided, yet I know in another thread on this forum there's a link to it on Keystone's site as I downloaded it at that time.

Just received my first of four settlement checks last week. Yearly payouts.

geobet,

If you don't mind sharing, what was the final settlement amount? Often these types of class action suits are a "cash cow" for a legal team and offer little reimbursement to the damaged owners, other times, they really help. Few have heard the results of this one.

John:

My first settlement check was for $228.90. Similar payouts will be made July 1, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Around $915 in total for my share of the settlement. Fine print says my payout is based on a value per share of $37.11 which is 25 shares less the settlement admin cost. Not bad for a few minutes of paperwork.

WOW !! Much different results than the payouts from the class action suits on the HP or Compaq hard drive issues!!! Thank you for sharing the information.
