I use two 6v golf cart batteries and they are always hooked up to a maintainer when the TT is not in use.

My question is this: is it better for the batteries life to use a cut off switch so there is never a draw on the batteries or is having a little draw on the batteries a good thing with the maintainer on?

I look forward to hearing your opinions. Thanks

I also have 2 6v batteries and do not use a battery maintainer when the RV is being used during the camping months. The batteries are being maintained either by shore power - when plugged in at campgrounds or by our solar panel when boon docking.

When parked at home, I usually plug the unit in every so often just to keep the batteries topped up by way of the converter and its built-in float charge. If you do plug it in at home, be sure to check the fluid level in your batteries from time-to-time as well.
